Govt Boosts National Single Window System To Ease Industrial Approvals: Jitin Prasada

New Delhi, Jul 29 (KNN) Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada said in Parliament on Tuesday that the government has taken steps to strengthen the National Single Window System (NSWS) to streamline industrial approvals through a unified digital platform.

Prasada noted that key enhancements include the ‘Know Your Approvals’ module to help businesses identify clearances, a centralised document repository for one-time submissions, and common registration forms to simplify applications. The platform also features an AI chatbot, BharatAssist, and a grievance redressal mechanism.

Additional improvements include PAN-based single sign-on, integrated payment systems, multilingual support in 22 Indian languages through BHASHINI, and end-to-end API integration for digital processing. Integration with Entity Locker enables secure and paperless document sharing, he added.

Wide Integration Across Governments

The minister said the NSWS functions as a one-stop platform for government-to-business approvals, integrating 32 central ministries and departments and 34 states and Union Territories.

It enables businesses to access 325 central and over 2,200 state-level approvals across a wide range of regulatory and licensing requirements.

Transparency and Monitoring

The platform provides a unified interface for applying for registrations, approvals and licences, with built-in dashboards and alert systems for monitoring application progress by concerned authorities, he noted.

While approval timelines continue to depend on individual ministry processes and statutory requirements, the system aims to improve transparency and enable timely decision-making.

Impact on Ease of Doing Business

No separate assessment has been conducted to measure reductions in approval timelines. However, the minister said the integration of services and digital tools under the NSWS is aimed at streamlining procedures, reducing duplication, and improving the ease of doing business.
