Govt calls on MSMEs-Labour Associations, discussion over Labour Code on the agenda

New Delhi, Sept 27 (KNN) In order to take forward the proceedings of the draft Labour Code on Industrial Relations Bill, the government has called upon the representatives of the Central Trade Unions, Employers’ Associations as well as the Micro, Medium and Small Enterprises bodies for a tripartite consultation meeting.

The prime focus of the meeting would be to explore the proposed draft of the upcoming labour code bill. Focus group discussions on the different chapters and sections of the bill will be worked out in the meeting.

The meeting led by Santosh Kumar Gangwar Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Ministry of Labour and Employment is scheduled on 4th October in the national capital.

Representatives from different associations including Federation of Association of Small Industries of India (FASII), All India Manufacturers’ Organisation (AIMO), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, PHD Chambers of Commerce & Industries (PHDCCI) and Federation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME) are expected to be a part of the meeting.

Earlier this month, the Labour Minister had similar talks with different labour unions including  BMS, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF and NFITU (Dhanbad). (KNN/ DA)
