Govt gives aid worth Rs 145.74 crore to FPIs in 2012-13

New Delhi, Mar 25, (KNN) Nearly thousand FPI units received Rs 145.74 crore for technological upgradation in the current year.

“The government has supported 966 food processing units with financial assistance of Rs. 145.74 crore this year (till February 15, 2013) under the Scheme for Technology Upgradation, Establishment and Modernisation of Food Processing Industries,” said an official statement.

In all, 26 States have received grants under this Scheme in the current financial year. The financial assistance granted to some of the states are 33.74 crore for 171 units in Andhra Pradesh, 17.19 crore for 174 units in Punjab, 14.57 crore for 105 units in Maharashtra, 13.30 crore for 109 units in Chhattisgarh, 10.20 crore for 62 units in Karnataka.
