Govt ITI granted accreditation certificate for Skill Development

Hyderabad, July 15 (KNN) Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) for Girls, Nizamabad in Telangana has been granted the accreditation certificate for promoting Skill Development so as to increase the availability of skilled workers in the industry.

The Institute and the Principal will be awarded as the best institute and the best principal by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on July 16.

Talking to KNN, K. Ram Mohan Rao, Principal, Government ITI for Girls, said, “We mainly concentrate on placements and revenue generation for our students. We have taken steps for internal revenue generation by conducting short term courses, giving services, etc.” 

He continued “this institute has stood first in the South India in generating the highest amount (Rs.93 lakh) through its courses. It also achieved ISO 2990-2010 and also ISO 2001-2008 in skill development.”

Observing its overall performance, the Quality Council of India, granted the accreditation certificate to the institute.

“We have our students employed in MNCs like Procter & Gamble Co., Astra Microwave Products Limited, Mahindra and Mahindra Limited, Shalibhadra Creations Pvt. Ltd, Nuziveedu Seeds Ltd, etc. ”, he continued.

He said that the institute helps students get Mudra loans for startups.

In this regard, a meeting of loan providers and the interested students was conducted, to facilitate loan disbursement.

The loans were given up to Rs 10 lakhs for establishment of various startups like tailoring, online services, computer institutes.

The ITI, besides giving training in the courses, encouraged its students to manufacture jute articles, garments, designer blouses, do computer-aided embroidery, ornaments with crystal beads and decorative items.

It has also set up solar power panels on its own to cut down expenditure on electricity use. (KNN/FA)
