New Delhi, Nov 30 (KNN)  The wind energy division of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is keen to develop small wind energy and wind solar hybrid systems in its quest for clean, affordable energy to bring about energy security in the country.

In this context, MNRE has invited proposals from research entities in public and private sectors that are well versed in small wind energy hybrid systems to design and develop aero generators and other components.

The projects are expected to lead to the technologies/applications ready for commercialisation by the participating industry.

Some of the thrust areas for this call are design and development of efficient Aerogenerators/SWES working at low rates wind speed, intelligent controller (synchronizing unit) for Wind-Solar hybrid system, safety mechanism for smooth operation for small wind energy systems specifically for snowfed areas, dynomometer test facility for small wind energy systems upto 10 kW and development of low cost reliable and effective energy storage technologies for SWES.

The aim of MNRE is to develop and deploy new and renewable energy for supplementing the energy requirements of the country. (KNN/ST)
