Govt to hold consultations on Rules for four Labour Codes

New Delhi, Dec 17 (KNN) Ministry of Labour and Employment is holding a virtual consultation with representatives of Trade Unions and Employers’ Federations on 24th Dec 2020 to discuss on the draft Rules for the four Labour Codes already notified.

Union Minister of State for Ministry of Labour and Employment (Independent Charge) Santosh Kumar Gangwar is to chair the meeting.

The central Government has replaced 29 labour laws with four Codes with the objective to simplify and modernise labour regulation. The Code on Wages 2019 was notified on 8th Aug 2019 and the Codes on Social security 2020, Occupational Safety , Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 on 29th Sept 2020

Now the detailed Rules for the four Codes have been framed drafts of which have been put in the Public domain accessible through the website of the Ministry. 

The major trade Unions invited  are BMS, INTUC, AITUC. HMS , CITU among others. The major employers’ federations include Council of Indian Employers, PHDCCI, CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, FISME etc.
