Govt to supply imported tur dal in Delhi through 400 outlets

New Delhi, Oct 8 (KNN) Government will supply imported tur dal through 400 outlets of Kendriya Bhandar and Safal in Delhi, said the Ministry of Consumer Affairs.

MMTC would import an additional quantity of 2000 tonnes of tur dal to augment supplies and moderate prices of pulses.

A high-level meeting was held by Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs with officers of Department of Agriculture, MMTC, Mother Dairy and Kendriya Bhandar here on Wednesday.

It was decided that Kendriya Bhandar would be lifting tur dal from MMTC at Mumbai and supplying at its 100 locations in Delhi while Safal would be supplying Tur dal through its 300 outlets. This will help in making available tur dal at lower prices in the capital.

So far 3250 MT of imported tur dal has arrived at Chennai and Mumbai ports and remaining stock will arrive soon. At present MMTC have enough stocks to make supplies of tur dal in Delhi and other states. (KNN Bureau)
