Govt will remove all obstacles in path of growth & speed up reforms: Venkaiah Naidu

New Delhi, Sept 23 (KNN) The government would remove all obstacles in the path of growth and speed up reforms, said Minister of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs, Venkaiah Naidu, while expressing confidence that India would ‘reinvent its growth story’.

Inaugurating All India Management Association’s (AIMA) 41st National Convention here today, Naidu said, “the task of reinventing India is challenging but full of opportunities,” according to an official release.

“Basic maladies coming in the way of rise of India have been identified and a systematic redressal initiative is being put in motion by the government”, he said adding “the country is at an inflection point and business as usual model will not work”. The need of the hour is ‘ideas, innovation, investment and implementation’ and next ten years will be crucial for making India rise to its potential, he said.

The Minister emphasised the need for asset and wealth creation and subsequent wealth distribution through collective efforts, smart leadership and smart management of the country.

On the other hand, Minister of Law and Justice, Communications and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “India Talent plus Information Technology (IT) is equal to India Tomorrow and Digital India is going to be a game changer programme”.

Digital infrastructure, digital governance and digital empowerment will propel India forward; he said adding that the government is building a development scenario on these lines.
Speaking at the Plenary Session on Reprogramming India for Fast Growth : ICT is the Key, Prasad said ,”Power of IT and broadband connectivity is changing India for better and IT potential of the country has become a game changer and it can bring prosperity for the country”.

Earlier, delivering the welcome address, President AIMA and Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Group, Preetha Reddy, said that the 41st AIMA Convention has given an opportunity to deliberate on future plans, reassess priorities, plan investment in capabilities and build a more inclusive India.

She also welcomed a special 15 member delegation from Pakistan led by Minister of State and Chairman of Privatization Commission, Mohammad Zubair.

Meanwhile, Convention Chairman and Chairman, Neo Foods Pvt Ltd, Sudhir Jalan in his address said that we need to harness our latent talents and skills to reinvent India.  (KNN/ES)
