Govt will soon bring law to address problems of home-buyers

New Delhi, June 25 (KNN) Stating that the government will soon bring a law to address the problems of the home-buyers in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the image of the private builders is very negative in the country.
Speaking during the launch function of his government's ambitious housing schemes at Vigyan Bhawan today, the PM said, "Private property developers should not decide how a city should grow. It should be decided by residents and city leadership."
He said the government will soon bring a law to address problems of home-buyers in the country.
Besides the Smart Cities Mission, Modi launched the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The projects are aimed to improve the quality of urban living and push economic growth.
"The country's 40 per cent population lives in cities and it is the responsibility of the government to uplift their standards of life. We cannot leave them on their fate," Modi said.
The central government has committed to spend about Rs 400,000 crore on these missions over the next six years. AMRUT will cover 500 cities with a population of above one lakh each. (KNN Bureau)
