Grant available for purchase/renovation of handloom & pre-loom equipment

New Delhi, Sept 20 (KNN) To provide a boost to the handloom sector, the Office of Commissioner of Industries has offered financial assistance for purchase, modernization or renovation of handlooms and pre-loom equipment.
“Applications are invited from registered primary weavers’ handloom cooperative societies of Delhi for financial assistance under Plan Scheme Loan-cum-Grant for purchase/modernization/renovation of handloom and pre-loom equipment for the year 2014-15,” a press notification said.
All handloom cooperative agencies of Delhi interested in availing assistance under the Scheme from the Government of Delhi should fulfil certain criteria before applying, it said.
Assistance under the scheme is available as 2/3rd loan and 1/3rd grant. The maximum limit of loan cum grant is Rs 50,000 per society. Loan component is recoverable in ten equal annual instalments with interest. In case of default in repayment, penal interest will be charged. The rate of interest and penal interest may change from time to time depending upon the instructions from the Government of India / Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.
However, defaulter handloom cooperative societies are not eligible for assistance under the scheme.
Further, societies which have been given loan grant during the years 2011-2012, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 will not be considered for assistance in the current financial year 2014-15. (KNN/ES)
