New Delhi, May 10 (KNN)  Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has extended the date for bids for allotment of industrial plots in the national capital region (NCR) which is considered prime land for industrialists.

The last day to avail the scheme has been extended to June-2 from May-2, the date for the draw of lots for the land allotment being August-7.

Plots measuring up to 2000 sq mt will be offered to the allottees on “as is where is basis” on lease for a period of 90 years unconditionally.

However, the allottee at his own expense will have to take permission for sewerage, electricity and water connections from the concerned departments of the authority or from the competent authority in this regard.

Some of the industrial facilities that will be allowed in the industrial sector to be allotted at one-and-a-half times (150 per cent) of the prevailing industrial rate of that area are warehousing, research and development centre, tool room, test lab, maintenance and packing machineries, weigh bridge and cable TV network.

GNIDA is the nodal agency responsible for the overall development of Greater Noida City. It was established in January 1991 under the UP Industrial Area Development Act, 1976. The Act mandates planning, development, operations and maintenance and regulatory functions to a single agency – GNIDA.

Industrial investment taking place in Greater Noida is now over Rs 10,000 crores.  Currently, it is now considered one of the favoured locations for good industrial investment especially of multinational investment because of its good infrastructure, closeness to Delhi and effective single window system of speedy decision making and clearances.

Last year, Greater Noida Authority cancelled over 300 allottees of plots in industrial sectors who had failed to set up functional units despite several years of possession. (KNN)
