Grievance Redressal Committee to be formed at DGFT level for speedy redressal of grievances related to FTP

New Delhi, Aug 26 (KNN) Ministry of Commerce has decided to form a grievance redressal committee at the level of Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for speedy redressal of grievances of trade and industry pertaining to the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) and the related procedure.

The committee would be formed both at the level of DGFT Headquarters as well as Regional Authorities (RAs).

In a notification, DGFT said, “Para 9.08 of HBP, 2015-2020 provides for a grievance committee at the level of DGFT, HQ and at the Zonal RAs for speedy redressal of grievances of trade and industry pertaining to  the FTP and related procedure.”

The decision has been taken in accordance with that.

The grievance committee at the HQ shall endeavour to meet once in every quarter and once in every month at the Zonal RAs.

The Grievance Committee would review cases pending beyond reasonable time with RA/ HQ for speedy disposal.

The committee would also review resolution of sector specific grievances brought forth by members or obtained from other sources. The committee would also suggest reform in policy and procedure.

The members of the grievance committee at the HQ would include – DGFT as the Chairperson, All Additional as well as Joint DGFTs in HQs, FIEO President etc.

While the members of the grievance committee at the RA would include – Zonal Additional DG  as the Chairperson, All Additional DGs. Joint DGs and Officers concerned in Zone and members and others. (KNN Bureau)
