Gujarat CM urges industry captains to implement ways to protect environment

Gandhinagar, Oct 30 (KNN) Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel has urged the industry captains to discuss ways to protect environment from harmful toxic chemicals. 
 
While addressing at an event here this week, she added that as a responsibility, all efforts should be made to control and reduce pollution caused because of industrial waste.
 
Patel said this during an inaugural session of India Chem 2015 at the Mahatma Mandir on October 28.
 
Minister of State, Chemicals and Fertilizers, Hansraj Ahir, was also present on the occasion.
 
This is the 4th edition of mega event India Chem Gujarat that is jointly organized by Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India, along with Government of Gujarat, iNDEXTb and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
 
The three-day event focused on development and deliberation in chemical industry, including fine chemicals, agrochemicals, dyes and chemical technology.
 
On the occasion, Patel said that with contribution of 62 per cent petrochemicals and 35 per cent chemicals to the total production of India, Gujarat has been at the forefront in developing Chemical Industry. 
 
She also expressed happiness over the recent data released by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) that puts Gujarat at the top amongst all states in implementation of industrial proposals during last five years.
 
Between year 2010 and 2015, industrial proposals worth Rs 3,19,920 crore have been implemented across the country. Out of which, Gujarat ranks first with 36.5 per cent contribution, by implementing industrial proposals of Rs 1,16,821 crore. (KNN Bureau)
