Gujarat Commercial Tax Department to re-auction seized Panmasala, Jarda

Ahmedabad, Feb 12 (KNN) The Gujarat Commercial Tax Department (GCTD) is re-auctioning some perishable goods including Panmasala, Jarda and Chatni which it seized from godowns in Ahmedabad.

The department recently sealed three godowns located in the state capital.

“No dealer/ individual had turned up to claim the ownership of the goods stored in the godowns,” GCTD said.

The department said that since no claim regarding the ownership of the goods was received by GCDT, they had seized the goods.

Seized goods including Panmasala, Jarda, Chatni were auctioned by the department on February 6, 2016.

GCTD is re-auctioning the goods saying, “The value of goods realizable from the auction being inappropriate, a fresh auction of the goods is being held on February 16, 2016.” (KNN Bureau)
