Pune, June 28 (KNN) Haier is planning to expand their manufacturing facility in Pune, as announced in an official ground breaking ceremony conducted in the factory premises in Ranjangaor. The new development would not only boost the employment opportunities in the city but would also give business to the MSME suppliers in an around the city.

Haier’s expansion will help to increase businesses for MSME sector like battery manufacturers, air compressor manufacturers, capacitor manufacturers, cathode ray tube manufacturers, pvc coated electrical wire manufacturers, circuit board makings, etc.

The expansion will likewise serve as an open door for the vendors, bringing about an expanded business with increased local production.

An event was recently conducted to initiate the expansion of Haier's manufacturing facility here after the company signed a MoU last year with the Maharashtra Government to invest Rs. 490 crore in line with the Central Government's ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Products offerings of Haier India range from refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, TVs, water heaters, freezers to microwave ovens, with a special focus on local needs.

The company also plans to generate employment opportunities in the state and increase the existing workforce from 1100 to 2900.

This would boost the employment opportunities at Haier by 167 percent by the end of 2017.

“Haier aims to gradually reduce the dependence on imports and increase exports from the country to aggressively contribute to the growth of the Indian economy,” Eric Braganza, President of Haier India, said, according to a media report. (KNN/FA)
