Haryana govt plans to give export achievement awards

Chandigarh, June 22 (KNN) The Haryana government has plans to felicitate the exporters for good performances for the year 2011-12 in the fields like engineering, chemicals and textiles with the aims to recognize the special efforts of exporters in the international market place. 

The Haryana Industries and Commerce department will give the awards to the exporters engaged in the export of commodities under the groups like engineering, agro-industries and floriculture, food and fruit processing, chemicals, minerals and rubber goods, textiles, handloom, readymade garments, scientific appliances including electronic, leather goods, ceramics, handicrafts, IT, bio technology, said an official notification.

The awards would be given to large and medium industries and micro and small scale industries.  

In this context, the Director of the Industries and Commerce of Haryana has sought for applications from the large as well as medium, small and micro units.

The export award selection committee would be constituted under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department.

The districts like Panipat in Haryana exports handlooms worth Rs 3,000 crore to various countries,  which are of interest to micro, small and medium enterprises including the US, Australia, Japan, Canada, Germany and Malaysia. These include an array of items ranging from carpets to curtains and from bed sheets to floor mats. (KNN)
