Rohtak, Mar 4 (KNN)  The Haryana Government will be spending Rs 259 crore on development of industrial infrastructure in the third phase of the Industrial Model Town (IMT) at Rohtak.

The project is being carried out by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC).

Rohtak is set to become the new industrial hub in Haryana with several major companies having set up units there to include Maruti Suzuki, Suzuki Motorcycles, Amul Dairy, Nippon Carbide, Lakshmi Precision Screws, Aisin Automotive Haryana Company, Asian paints and Hi-tech Fort Wire design Institute.

Located in south east of Haryana, IMT Rohtak is spread over 2,700 acres of land.  For some time now, the state has been focusing on bringing new industrial investments outside of Gurgaon.  It is a popular industrial base among the industry because of good road connectivity with Delhi and Jaipur and availability of social infrastructure.

HSIIDC is also in the process of developing infrastructure on turnkey basis at Barwala industrial estate in Panchkula with an outlay of Rs 127 crore.  Work would include the building of roads, public health, engineering and electrification works.

It has also invited bids for providing street lighting on newly carved roads in IMT Manesar, and construction of common effluent treatment plant at Manakpur Industrial Estate in Yamunanagar.  (KNN/ES)
