HHEC to examine business growth strategy for domestic, international markets

New Delhi, Sept 11 (KNN) In an effort to examine business growth strategy in the domestic and international markets, the Handicrafts and Handlooms Exports Corporation of India Limited (HHEC) has proposed to undertake a study.  

HHEC is proposing to engage a consulting agency to undertake a study to develop business growth strategy for international and domestic market and its implementation, said HHEC.

The study will first analyse the current business of HHEC along with its future plan. It will examine the dynamics of the handloom and handicraft sectors, which shall include estimation of the present market size, target segment of customers, success and risk factors etc. Later, it will identify the gaps.

Further, based on the study a strategy for business development will be proposed for international and domestic markets which will include the financial plan and implementation roadmap.

The corporation will be supported by the agency in developing required infrastructure and systems for improving its functioning and performance.

HHEC offers a wide range of handloom and handicraft products and has been working to nurture and organize the different schools of craftsmanship.

It organizes exhibitions in foreign countries such as studded gold jewellery exhibitions and handicrafts, etc. which provide a platform for various production houses to showcase their masterpieces.

Further, it participates in international trade fairs and buyer-seller meets to understand the trends and provides guidance to master craftsmen for development of demand centric products.

It also provides technical guidance to craftsmen enabling them to understand the finer details of quality production, tools and technological infrastructure, which helps them in designing and processing of their products. (KNN/GUNJ)
