Holi sales shot up in Delhi NCR after 2 years

Noida, Mar 20 (KNN) The Delhi NCR traders saw a rise in Holi sales after two year hiatus due to Covid-19 restrictions.

This year’s Holi has brought some relief to the traders as many are still recovering from the losses incurred during the lockdown period.

CAIT, Delhi based trade body has said that there has been a huge sales in garments, sweets, gifts items, colours etc., for the over the last 10 days.

Sushil Kumar Jain, president of Sector 18 Market Association, Noida said, this Holi week saw a cascading effect on business due to the removal of restrictions.

“Business worth almost Rs 250 crore was done during the Holi week. This gave hope and cheer to the traders, who had faced hefty losses during the lockdowns,” he added.

Jain agreed that Holi sales in the last two years had performed poor due to the pandemic which shunted the demand.

“Sweets, clothes, water guns, colours, gift items, jewellery, decorators, catering… all did good business the last week,” he added.

He stated that the economy seems to be back in track as Holi sales are an indication of good times ahead.  (KNN Bureau)
