Home Expo India 2014 to showcase furnishings, accessories, housewares and décor

The 3rd edition of Hope Expo India 2014 which is a culmination of Indian Furnishings, Floorings and Textiles Show (IFFTEX), Indian Furniture and Accessories Shows (IFAS) and Indian Houseware and Decoratives Show (IHDS) will be held from April-15 to 18.
“The most important aspect of Home Expo India is the confirmation from large number of top buyers, buying houses, import houses, chain stores, boutique owners and interior decorators from leading markets like USA, European Union, Far East, Latin America, Central Asia and African continents to visit and source at this show,” said President of Home Expo India 2014, V S Goel.
Over 350 participants will be displaying best of their products to enable a large number of overseas buyers including renowned international brands from across the globe offering them three premium sourcing opportunities under one roof. The products on offer will be all inclusive, right from ready products to a choice in materials, components, hardware and accessories, said a press release.
The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), organizers of the Home Expo India, has been successfully organizing for the past 15 years, Asia’s largest Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair (IHGF) twice a year - Spring and Autumn to promote exports of Handicrafts from India to various destinations.
Over the years, IHGF has acquired the reputation of “One Stop Sourcing Event” amongst the overseas buying community and ‘most effective marketing medium’ amongst the Indian exporting community.
Commenting on the event, Executive Director – EPCH, Rakesh Kumar said, “The thrust in the international markets is now on product-segmented specialized trade shows rather than trade shows covering all product categories. Hence, there was need for Home Expo India. The emphasis laid by the Council is on making this show a wholesome with a ‘Home Total’ tag attached to it with the intention of making it a benchmark event for premium merchandise for a target market/buyers segment.”
“Having given shape to the idea called Home Expo India, EPCH’s publicity and promotional activities have been aggressively pursued at prime trade shows in the select markets abroad,” he added.
The EPCH will lay special focus on specialties of select regions of India at this show. In this direction, there will be separate pavilions of products from J & K region. J & K is a state where specialized kind of floorings, furnishings is produced which are typical of their craftsmanship. The furniture and accessories are broadly made of walnut wood with typical kashmiri carving. Houseware and textiles items are also typical for their designs, colours scheme and presentation. Though products of J&K are already being exported yet volume of export has not been substantial. It is hoped that with the special emphasis on display of J &K in Home Expo India, the products of the State will receive extra attention from the visiting overseas buying community.
Another important aspect of the Home Expo India is the Curtain Raiser of IHGF Delhi Fair –Autumn 2014 being re-launched by the Council with bigger in space, grander in display with 12 segmented product groups and 2750 exhibitors and longer in duration on April-16.
The event will also see a seminar on Power of E-commerce to boost the Handicrafts exports by Amazaon.com during on April-17.
The major markets for exports of Home Furnishing, Floorings, Home Textiles, Furniture and Accessories, Houseware and Decoratives have been USA, Canada, countries in European Union like France, Italy, UK, Netherlands etc in addition to UAE, Japan and Switzerland.
Home Expo India 2014 is expected to generate great business deals for direct import as also for tie- ups, collaborations, alliances and joint ventures for product development, product innovation and International sales.
EPCH is the nodal export promotion body for handicrafts in India and plays an important role of a catalyst between the exporters, buyers and the Government with the main objective of boosting trade in Handicrafts and also project India’s image in the global market as a reliable supplier.
