Human Rights Due Diligence to virtually train cos in construction & real estate sectors from Apr 22

New Delhi, April 13 (KNN) The Human Rights Due Diligence is organizing industry-specific three-day training from April 22 till 28 April to support companies in India in their efforts to safeguard the value chains against human rights violations.

The training is designed for companies in the Constructions and Real Estate sectors who are looking to build their human rights due diligence capacity and align it to internationally recognised standards.

In December 2021, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) entered into a partnership with UNDP India and amfori to develop and implement virtual training that will cater to the specific needs of companies operating in the Constructions and Real Estate sectors.

The partnership brings together the world-class expertise of the three organizations to build capacity-building content aligned with the needs of the industry and harmonized to internationally recognised standards.

The IGCC is committed to sustainable and responsible business conduct.

IGCC says “Human rights violations in the supply chains, especially those that disproportionately affect minority groups and women, are well documented across the world. As the world moves from voluntary compliance to mandatory compliance on human rights due diligence, customers, investors. The protection of workers must not be traded in exchange for short-term economic gains”.

This initiative is being undertaken as part of the Business and Human Rights Asia (B+HR Asia) programme and is being supported by the European Union.

Training contents are customized to include examples, case studies, and terminologies from the constructions and real estate sectors.
