IFSC-GNLU collaborates, plans to start courses in Financial Law and Arbitration

New Delhi, May 11 (KNN) The International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Gujarat recently signed an MoU with the Gujarat National Law University (GNLU). 

Under the signed MoU, IFSC that is located in the Gujarat International Finance-Tec City will be working with the law varsity to provide courses and training programs in International Financial Services Law.  The MoU is signed with the aim to provide the legal practitioners with knowledge on International Arbitration and related fields to help settle cases of business disputes as there is a growing demand of Arbitration Centers in the country

Talking to press, Dipesh Shah, Head at IFSC said that IFSC being a concept of recent origin, there is growing need to equip the practitioners with various aspects relating to IFSC rules, Arbitration, rules and regulations concerning financial transactions 

Also under the MoU, the Law University will start offering a new course on International financial Services Center from the upcoming semester in June this year. This course will be offered to the lawyers as well as Masters and Degree students at the university.

Earlier this year, a study revealed that most of the global business disputes involving Indian business have to go to Singapore and London due to the lack of International Arbitration Centres and experts in country. (KNN/ DA)
