IIA ties with MDL to promote vendors and startups in UP

New Delhi, Jan 15 (KNN) Indian Industries Association (IIA) has tied up with the Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) to promote vendors and startups in Uttar Pradesh (UP) who can supply  products and equipments to MDL for building warships, submarines and merchant ships etc.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), aptly called “Ship Builder to the Nation”, is one of India’s leading Defence public sector undertaking shipyard under the Ministry of Defence. The main activities of MDL are construction of warships and submarines with facilities situated at Mumbai and Nhava.

MDL have the capability to build warships, submarines, merchant ships upto 40,000 DWT since 1979.

Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME’s) located in UP Defence Corridor and in other parts of the State can avail the opportunity to supply these products and equipment’s to MDL.

In a bid to showcase the various products that have potential use in warship and commercial shipbuilding MDL is also organizing a road show on 16th January 2020 Lucknow.

Senior Officers of MDL including AK Saxena, Director Shipbuilding, SR Devgikar, General Manager, Biju George General Manager, J Kumaran Deputy General Manager and Staish Chandra, Chief Manager will be present in the Road show to address the participants.

MDL will also facilitate on the spot Vendor registration through one to one discussions in the Road Show. Draft of the MOU will also be circulated to the participants for signing the same with MDL at MDL’s stall during the DefExpo in Feb 2020.MDL will also explore possibilities of involving start-ups from the UP defence Corridor.
