IIM- Dept of Science and Tech announces ‘Smartfifty’ contest for Startups

New Delhi, Nov 11 (KNN) The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta Innovation Park in association with Department of Science & Technology Government of India (DST-GoI) has launched ‘Smartfifty’ contest in a bid to encourage the startups in the country.

The contest is open to aspiring or early stage (set up within last 5 years) Startups working on solutions that addresses the socio-economic needs of India and preference will be given to those with a full-time core team and a working model or prototype or proof of concept ready for customer validation.

The areas of focus are smart agriculture, smart money, smart learning, smart health, smart living and smart sustainability, the organizers informed in a release

The release further said that the total reward for the contest is 21 Crore including cash and benefit. Top 10 startups can get funding up to Rs. 1 Crore each and assured Incubation at IIM Calcutta Innovation Park and top 50 startups get assured funding of Rs. 4 Lakh each and get access to dedicated mentoring.

Top 400 Start Ups to get assured benefit worth Rs. 1 lakh each.

The last date to register for the contest is Nov 25, 2017 and the grand finale will be held on March 31, 2018, the release added. (KNN/AG)
