IIP to organize a national conference to boost the packaging industry consisting 90% MSMEs

Hyderabad, Mar 28 (KNN) To boost the packaging industry which consists of about 90% of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) will organize a two-day national conference on packaging on March 28 and 29 here.

This Conference will give the opportunities to listen some of the latest packaging innovations and the contributions made by the leading experts in the field of packaging through the presentations, discussions and sharing their experiences.

The objective is to give the benefit and increase the awareness among the students, packaging professionals, exporters, packaging material manufacturer, the personnel’s in the packaging developments, R &D in packaging through this Seminar.

India has over 22,000 packaging industries and about 90% of them are in the MSMEs segment. Packaging is the ninth biggest industry globally with a turnover $ 771 billion, according to the release.

Telangana has a significant packaging industry as the State is a key exporter of bulk drugs, fresh fruits and vegetables.

Industry experts, policy makers and industrialists will participate in the event.

IIP is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. (KNN/JM)
