IN-SPACe starts authorization of private firms in space sector

Bengaluru, June 27 (KNN) The Indian Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe) has initiated the authorization of private firms in the Indian space sector.

The autonomous, single-window nodal agency confirmed on Monday that it has authorised Digantara Research and Technologies from Bengaluru and Dhruva Space from Hyderabad on June 24, to launch their payloads.

The centred emphasised on its role to promote, authorise, monitor and supervise space activities of non-governmental private entities (NGPEs).

IN-SPACe Chairman Pawan Kumar Goenka said, “The first two launch Authorisations issued by IN-SPACe is an important milestone and marks the beginning of private space sector launches in India.”

According to the statement, Dhruva’s Dhruva Space Satellite Orbital Deployer – (DSOD 1U), a technology demonstration payload and Digantara’s ROBust Integrating Proton Fluence Metre (ROBI), a proton dosimeter payload have been authorised and would fly onboard PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM) of PSLV-C53 mission scheduled for a June 30 launch.  (KNN Bureau)
