'Indian Heat to Power Alliance' launched to make Indian thermal plants world class

New Delhi, Oct 18 (KNN) With the view to increase the power efficiency of thermal power plants and facilitate Indian thermal plants become world class, ‘Indian Heat to Power Alliance’ has been launched.
 
The Confederation of India Industry (CII) in partnership with USAID-India today launched ‘Indian Heat to Power Alliance’ with an aim to improve the operating efficiency of Indian thermal power plants.

It will work with all the stakeholders in the four areas such as development of service providers network, development of model thermal plants, collaborative research and solutions development and information dissemination.

The alliance will also get benefits like improving efficiency of thermal power plants, reducing in GHG emissions, development and adoption of latest technologies and services and creation of new market opportunities to facilitate Indian Thermal Plants reach global standards in efficiency improvements.
 
Former Secretary, Ministry of Power, R V Shahi said that the alliance will go a long way in facilitating Indian thermal plants become world class.
 
CPRI Director General, N Murugesan, NTPC Director- Operations (Designate) RK Sharma, and COO and Executive Director, Tata Power Ashok Sethi were present at the launch programme.
 
Some of the  major utilities including NTPC, Tata Power, CESC Ltd, Adani Power, Reliance Power and Equipment Suppliers including - BHEL  Doosan, Siemens, Bharat Forge and other service providers,  research institutions, academia, financial institutions  are part of ‘Indian Heat to Power Alliance’.
