Indian Texpreneurs Federation appeals candidates for Lok Sabha elections to support textile industry

Coimbatore, Mar 23 (KNN) The Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF) has appealed to the candidates for the Lok Sabha elections here to have regular interactions with the industry, if elected, so that they can take up the issues with the new government.

ITF which have units from different segments of the textile industry as its members, in a memorandum to the candidates said that Coimbatore, Tiruppur and adjacent districts were known for industrial development and inclusive growth through the manufacturing industries, including textiles.

The textile industry needed better and meaningful participation in policy decisions. So, the MPs elected should have a special interaction with the textile industry associations in the region to come up with a common minimum policy and submit it to the new government, ITF said.

The MPs should also arrange for such meetings here between the top officials and the industry, it added.

ITF further said that an economist should be appointed as a co-ordinator with industries to study and take up their demands.

The elected MPs should have a review meeting with the stakeholders here before the Parliament sessions to represent the industry demands, it added.
