Indian Tyre Exports climb up 30% to Rs 6,213 cr in Q1 FY23

New Delhi, Sept 14 (KNN) During the first quarter of financial year 2022-23 exports of tyre from India increased by 31 per cent to Rs 6,213 crore.

According to a report by the Union Ministry of Commerce in the year-ago quarter the exports were at Rs 4,754 crore.

In major categories there has been a double digit growth.

Commenting on the growth, Satish Sharma, Chairman, Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ATMA), said “Indian tyre industry has weathered the storm well and has turned out an impressive export performance.”

Tyre Industry and Rubber Board are collaborating to ensure that the raw material producers and the entire value chain align themselves to the exacting standards, he added.

Tyres manufactured in India are being exported to over 170 countries including some of the most discerning markets in North America and Europe. The US continues to be the largest market for Indian tyres.

Top 5 export markets for Indian tyres in Q1 included the US, Germany, France, Netherlands and Italy.  (KNN Bureau)
