New Delhi, Nov 1 (KNN)  In an effort to overcome the problems faced by travellers, India’s first integrated national transport portal has been launched.

Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Oscar Fernandez unveiled the “busindia.com” site here today.

Fernandez said the site will address the need of a single window application, like IRCTC, through which users can seamlessly plan their bus travel including stop overs, changing routes, multi-trips and round-trips.

Stating that the busindis.com will become world’s largest online ticketing system, the minister said bus travel will become a whole new experience for people in India and outside.

The road transport ministry also has plans of integrating busindia.com with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) in the future wherein people can combine their train and bus journeys together and in the process travel far and wide in the country. It will then be a very unique experience for everyone, said an official statement. (KNN/ST)
