India’s Textile & Apparel Exports Surge to Rs 3.25 Lakh Crore in FY 2025–26, MoS Informs Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, Jul 24 (KNN) India’s exports of textiles and apparel, including handicrafts, increased 1.8 Percent to Rs 3,25,339 crore in 2025–26 from Rs 3,19,573.2 crore in 2024–25, with export growth recorded in more than 100 countries.

The information was provided by Minister of State for Textiles Pabitra Margherita in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.

The Government has implemented schemes including PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel Parks, the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Textiles, the National Technical Textiles Mission, SAMARTH and export promotion measures under the Export Promotion Mission.

Measures to support exports include extending the RoDTEP Scheme until September 30, 2026, temporary exemptions from customs duty on cotton and selected man-made fibre inputs, GST rate rationalisation for the MMF value chain and the launch of the Resilience & Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation (RELIEF) initiative.

The RoSCTL Scheme for garments and made-ups has also been extended for six months until September 30, 2026.

The Government has adopted a market diversification strategy covering 40 priority countries. Sixteen FTAs, including the India–UK CETA, are in force, while negotiations for an India–EU FTA have concluded and India has signed an FTA with New Zealand.

The Ministry of Textiles has established six Textile Export Facilitation Centres and adopted a district-focused approach covering 100 champion and 100 aspirational textile districts. Textile and handicraft products were exported from more than 500 districts in 2025–26.

The third edition of Bharat Tex was held from July 14 to 17, 2026, to showcase India’s textile value chain and promote global business partnerships.
