Inter-college chemistry festival to inspire innovations

Mumbai, Jan 8 (KNN)  To introduce the exciting world of chemicals and its chemistries to young students, acknowledge the contribution of chemicals in daily life and learn from industry leaders and academic experts, Green Chemistry Foundation is organising an inter-college festival.

The inter-college chemistry festival will be held here on January-14, according to an official release.

As many as 100-150 undergraduate students intending to pursue chemistry (20 students each from 10 colleges) are expected to attend the event.

The festival is also open to all those who are inspired by the bounty of nature, fascinated by the generosity of science, and touched by the hospitality of chemicals in our daily-life.
As far as the sessions are concerned, the keynote talk will deal with future innovations based on chemistry led by Ex R&D head, BASF, Dr Prabodh Chobe. 

Other sessions are on – Journey of chemicals to products (by Chief sustainability officer, Excel Industries Limited – Rajkumar Korde); Chemistry of Photosynthesis and Chemistry is FUN-damental with hands-on demonstrations (by Rahul Gera and TIFR Science Outreach team); and Chemistry in daily life, head to toe and dawn to dusk (by students).

There will also be a chemistry innovation workshop; how about chemistry-career talk with industry panellists; and participants will reflect on the chemistry of fireworks. (KNN/ES)
