Interactive session on cost effective IT solutions for MSME industry

New Delhi, Oct 31 (KNN)  To discuss the effectiveness and role of information technology (IT) in development of the SME landscape in India, an interactive session on ‘Cost Effective IT Solutions for MSME Industry’ will be held here.

Organised by the PHD Chamber, the session be held on November-3.

“The event will help SME business owners in developing a 360-degree view of the business environment, scanning it and monitoring it for change in a holistic way through use of modern technology,” said an official notification.
 
President of Kabeer Consulting Inc and former associate partner at IBM in USA, Dilip K Sadh will make the “Theme Presentation” on the occasion.

On the need for the session, “In today’s globalised business environment, it has become even more imperative for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to constantly enhance their productivity so as to stay competitive and relevant. The rapid growth of technological innovations and the fusion of information technology have drastically changed the way companies compete.
 
“With the competition getting fierce and intense, companies are always looking forward to differentiate themselves with the use of innovative ideas, technology to foster productivity and to stay ahead in the competition,” according to official data.
 
Considering that over the last several years after liberalization of Indian economy, Indian SMEs have withered several challenges; information technology has a key role to play in driving innovation and competitiveness for small businesses and has revolutionized the way business is done in the manufacturing and service sectors.
 
However, there is considerable variation across the business sector in terms of technology use, with companies that have invested in computers enjoying a competitive advantage over those which have not, it said.
 
Small and medium enterprises play a vital role for the growth of Indian economy by contributing 45 per cent of the industrial output, 40 per cent of exports, 42 million in employment, create one million jobs every year and produces more than 8000 quality products for the Indian and international markets.  (KNN/ES)
