International Expo to promote benefits of LED technology

New Delhi, Nov 30 (KNN)  To promote the benefits and applications of LED technology, an international expo will be held, featuring leading LED companies and products from all over the world.
 
To be inaugurated by the Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Farooq Abdullah, the 9th edition of International Led Expo 2013 and LED summit will be held here from December 19-21.
 
“LED expo is centered on promoting the benefits and applications of LED technology by highlighting its advantages over other lighting solutions in areas such as power saving, environment friendliness, durability, design flexibility etc,” said an official release.
 
“Due to its many advantages, LED is slowly taking over public, commercial and home lighting.  Many countries are adopting LEDs for street lighting and persuading consumers to switch to LEDs at home through state-run initiatives that are providing LED lights at subsidized rates,” it added.
 
Significantly, the use of LEDs is also fast catching on in the hospitality, entertainment and retail sectors, reflecting the popularity of this revolutionary lighting solution.
 
The LED expo will see participation from more than 220 national and international exhibitors from 11 countries such as Korea, Taiwan, Japan, China, USA, Hong Kong, UK, Singapore, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Russia and more.
 
Spread across an exhibition space of 10,000 sq m, the event will showcase new launches and live demonstrations of a broad range of LED-related products from all over the world such as LED lighting products, LED signage and displays, LED components/accessories and raw materials, LED drivers and power supply, and LED manufacturing equipment/machinery and allied products.
 
Visitors will have a great opportunity to interact with international market leaders of the LED industry, interview them and come up with strong story lines on market overview, latest trends, and new products and technology in the LED industry.
 
The LED expo is supported by Ministry of New Renewable Energy (MNRE), Department of Electronics Information & Technology (DEITY), Indian Building Congress (IBC), Solar Energy Society of India (SESI), National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and Electronic Industry Association of India (ELCINA).
 
Some of the exhibitors expected at the show include Philips Lumileds, Everlight, Toshiba, Edison Opto Corporation, Fiem Industries Ltd., Osram, Rabyte Electronics Pvt. Ltd., Nichia, Nihon Garter, Prolight Opto Technology Corporation etc.
 
Guests of honour will be Parimita Mohanty (The Energy Resource Institute -TERI),  Bharath Reddy (Solar Energy Corporation of India), Rajesh Batra (National Small Industries Corporation), Ajay Mathur (Bureau of Energy Efficiency), R C Mathew (Head of Electro Technical Department, Bureau of Indian Standards), Robert Gardner (NEEV Energy) and Nikhil Aggarwal (Moserbaer India Ltd) and Thilo Gemeinhardt (Instrument System GMBH).  (KNN/ES)
