IRCON to modernize its procurement process

New Delhi, May 28 (KNN) IRCON International Limited, the turnkey construction company in the public sector under the Railway Ministry has modernized its procurement procedures through electronic tendering.

“IRCON is resorting to e-Procurement for all works/ consultancy/ supply tenders w.e.f 01.07.2013,” Executive Director of the company said in a notification.
According to the notification, all bids issued after 1 July will be in the e-Procurement format.

All the bidders of IRCON will be required to obtain Class-III Digital Signature Certificate from any authorized Certifying Authority, said the official.

Also, the bidder will have to get himself or his authorized signatory holding the power of attorney registered with the Application service provider by registering himself online, he added.

IRCON INTERNATIONAL LIMITED (IRCON) is a government company incorporated by the Central Government (Ministry of Railways) originally under the name Indian Railway Construction Company Limited. It is a turnkey construction company in the public sector.

IRCON has widespread operations in several States in India and in other countries like Malaysia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, UK, Algeria and Sri Lanka. 

IRCON is a specialized Constructions organization covering the entire spectrum of construction activities and services in the infrastructure sector. However, Railway and Highway Construction, EHP sub-station (engineering and constructions), and MRTS are the core competence areas of IRCON.

IRCON has so far completed more than 280 infrastructure projects in India and more than 90 projects across the globe in more than 21 countries. (KNN)
