ITC committed Rs 4500 crore in the food processing, hospitality and IT biz in WB, says ITC Chairman

Kolkata, Feb 11 (KNN) ITC has committed Rs 4500 crore investment in food processing, hospitality and IT businesses including Rs 3000 crore in the units inaugurated on Wednesday in the state, said ITC Chairman YC Deveshwar while inaugurating the ITC’s food park at Panchla in Howrah district.

Praising Bengal government’s commitment to industry, he said that ITC has set up as many as 12 manufacturing units in the State during the four years of Trinamool Congress.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone of ITC’s food park (named Integrated Consumer Goods Manufacturing Facility), and two other business units of the company.

The other units inaugurated were another food park in Uluberia, also in Howrah district, and an IT hub of ITC Infotech, called Information Technology Park, in Rajarhat, both by remote control.

The Panchla facility would have a built-up area of 8 lakh square feet and the Uluberia facility, of 4 lakh square feet. The IT park would have a built-up area of 27 lakh square feet, and would be situated on 16 acres. It would employ 10,000 people. (KNN Bureau)
