ITDC hotels looking for vendors

New Delhi, Aug 4 (KNN) Offering an outsourcing opportunity to makers of savouries, ice creams and other eatables, the star category hotels of the ITDC will be purchasing these items in big numbers.
ITDC is planning to procure “namkeen, kulfi, sweets, tinned and bottled items (imported and Indian), Uniform (cloth, sarees, shoes, etc), crockery and tetra pack juices for the Delhi based ITDC hotels/units during the year 2014-15,” an India Tourism Development Corporation Limited press notification said.
India Tourism Development Corporation Limited (ITDC) – A government of India Undertaking has been in the business of hospitality and tourism in India since 1966, running hotels, restaurants at various places for tourists, besides providing transport facilities.
In addition, the Corporation is engaged in production, distribution and sale of tourist publicity literature and providing entertainment and duty free shopping facilities to the tourists.
Lately, the Corporation has diversified into new avenues/innovative services like engineering related consultancy services etc. The Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management of the Corporation imparts training and education in the field of tourism and hospitality.
At present ITDC under the brand name of “Ashok” is running 13 hotels spread all over India. The “Ashok” Brand is well-known and in operation for over 4 decades. Its “in-house” Travel Agency “Ashok Travels and Tours” is involved in Air-ticketing, transport services, tour packages, Destination Management etc.
It has recently launched its online travel portal www.itdctravels.com to meet requirements of its customers across the globe. It has a pan India presence with 11 branch offices in the country, at New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and Kolkata. (KNN/ES)
