New Delhi, Aug 7 (KNN) According to the income tax department's e-filing website now you can e-verify your Income Tax Return (ITR) without logging into your account.

This is one of the many measures taken by the tax department to make the ITR filing process easier for taxpayers. Among these measures is the lighter version of the e-filing website, 'e-filing Lite', launched by the tax department last week.

ITR is the form in which assessee files information about his Income and tax thereon to Income Tax Department.

Every ITR is applicable to a certain section of the Assessees. Only those Forms which are filed by the eligible Assessees are processed by the Income Tax Department of India. It is therefore imperative to know which particular form is appropriate in each case.

ITR Forms vary depending on the criteria of the source of income of the Assessee and the category of the Assessee.
