Jaitley resumes charge as Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister after 3 months

New Delhi, Aug 23 (KNN) Union minister Arun Jaitley will reportedly resume charge as Finance Minister today after a three month break for a kidney transplant surgery.

Jaitley had undergone a kidney transplant surgery on May 14, 2018.

He has been reassigned the portfolio of finance and corporate affairs.

President Ram Nath Kovind has directed to assign portfolios of Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs to Arun Jaitley.

“The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed to assign the portfolios of the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs to Arun Jaitley,” an official notification issued today said.

In the absence of Jaitley, Piyush Goyal was given the charge of Finance Ministry and Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Goyal was already having the portfolios like Railways and Coal. (KNN Bureau)
