Jammu, Apr 28 (KNN) The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Jammu met BJP State President Sat Sharma to raise serious concerns over delay in the restoration of 100% central excise refund, extension of income tax holidays, setting up of mother industry and other issues related to the industrial sector.

The MSMEs said that despite repeated representations made to the Central Government in last two years, nothing has been done in this regard so far.

A delegation of Federation of Industries, Jammu under the Chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan along with Executive Members of the Federation met Sharma, State BJP President in the presence of Harinder Gupta, BJP State General Secretary to discuss the issues related to the Central Package of Incentives for the Industrial Sector of J&K and submitted a Memorandum in this regard.

The delegation highlighted that the DIPP Package for the Capital Investment Subsidy, Interest Subsidy and Insurance Subsidy is going to be expired in June 2017 which also “puts a question mark” on the future growth of industries in the State.

The delegation said industrial growth is not possible without the Central Government Incentives due to additional cost of raw materials and dispatch of finished goods to the other parts of the country from the land lock state and limited marketing avenues.

Mahajan requested Sharma to lead a delegation of FOIJ along with the Member of Parliaments from the state to meet Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Minister for Commerce & Industries Nirmala Sitharaman to resolve the issue on the priority basis.

Sharma gave a patient hearing to the suggestions made during the meeting and assured to take up the matter with the Centre on priority basis. He also assured to lead the delegation as early as possible. (KNN Bureau)
