Kalraj Mishra, Amit Shah unveil world’s biggest Charkha at IGI Airport

New Delhi, July 5 (KNN) The Khadi Village Industries Commission (KVIC) today unveiled world’s largest Charkha – spinning wheels – at the Terminal 3 of IGI Airport.

The idea behind displaying world’s largest charkha at the country’s biggest airport is to highlight India’s quest to foster an egalitarian society as demonstrated by Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, said Ministry of MSME.

Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra and Amit Shah, BJP President, unveiled the Charkha.

The Ministers recalled the role of Charkha as a source of self-reliance in India’s freedom struggle.

Installation of the iconic charkha at the departure forecourt between gate numbers 4 and 5 would carry forward the legacy of promoting India’s rich cultural heritage through different art works at the terminal.
