Kassia to organize conference on skill training under National Urban Livelihood Mission

Bangalore, Oct 15 (KNN) The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) and Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd (KSSIDC)  is organising a conference to discuss about skill training under National Urban Livelihood Mission, 2015-16 under the Chairmanship of Karnataka Minister for Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Dinesh Gundu Rao on October 16.

NULM has an objective to reduce poverty and vulnerability of the urban poor households by enabling them to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities, resulting in an appreciable improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis, through building strong grassroots level institutions of the poor.

Chairman, B Gurappa Naidu; Vice Chairman, A M Pathan; Managing Director of KSSIDC, Mohammed Mohsin; Director, Municipal Administration, N Manjula; Additional Commissioner, Social Welfare, BBMP, N V Prasad; Director, MSMED Institute, Bangalore, S N Rangaprasad along with Office Bearers of KASSIA and other Affiliated Associations representatives will be present during the occasion.

NULM mission would also address livelihood concerns of the urban street vendors by facilitating access to suitable spaces, institutional credit, social security and skills to the urban street vendors for accessing emerging market opportunities. (KNN Bureau)
