Mumbai, Dec 2 (KNN)  In order to take vocational training to a different level, KTI (Kohinoor Technical Institute) – Mumbai based nodal training partner of National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) today entered into an agreement with Kolkata based GTTI (The George Telegraph Training Institute).

While addressing the media on the occasion CEO and Director, KTI, Sameer Joshi said, “KTI’s tie-up with GTTI opens up new markets not only in West Bengal but will also enable to add newer programs in our bouquet as the understanding between two institutes is to run programs which will complement each other’s portfolio. Like GTTI would run Fashion Designing program, which currently is not part of their program list and KTI would run Construction program which is not part of our list”.

Also commenting on the move, Director, GTTI, Subrata Dutta said, “Our tie up with KTI has enabled us to foray into the most potential and vibrant markets in the west like – Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad which we missed for the years. Now, with an established player like KTI we are sure we will be able to reach out to many unexplored areas and maximum people with our training programs gradually even at pan India level”.

KTI and GTTI have partnered with NDSC. NSDC is a unique Public Private Partnership, promoted by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Kohinoor Technical Institute (KTI)’s affiliation with the NSDC’s Sector Skill Councils would mean that the interested students would be trained in the lines with the industry guidelines by the experts themselves. The trainees would thereby be trained to readily fill the skill gap requirements in the industry, thus increasing their job prospects.

The Skill Sector Council is comprised of a group of industry-led bodies which define the skilling needs, concepts, processes, certification and accreditation of their respective industry sectors.

Presently, KTI has is affiliated to 8 Sector Skill Councils.  (KNN Bureau)
