KVIB wants 22 khadi cluster development units for J&K

New Delhi, Sep 10 (KNN) Vice-Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Jammu & Kashmir Peerzada Mansoor Hussain has met  the Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Industries (MSME) Kalraj Mishra and discussed various issues pertaining to the development of rural entrepreneurship in the state.

Mansoor urged the Minister to allocate 22 Khadi Cluster Development units for J&K so that each district in the State could get one such unit.

He sought Central Government’s financial and technical support for setting up Khadi Plazas, with one each in Srinagar and Jammu.

Mansoor also urged the Union Minister that the applicants from Jammu and Kashmir should be allowed to submit the application forms under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) manually instead of online as there is no internet facility available in most parts of the State for the past two months.

He also sought Union Ministry of MSME’s financial support for setting up of facilitation centres in each district to create awareness about the entrepreneur schemes available in Khadi and Village Industries sector.

The Union Minister assured Mansoor that his Ministry would take appropriate positive action on the issues raised in the meeting. (KNN Bureau)
