In a written reoly to the Upper House, he said that about 500 entities have apologized for unknowingly using the Khadi trade mark, and have removed them from their products and websites.

The apex body for Khadi products has filed approximately nine suits against different entities for the infringement of trade mark and in most of the cases got interim injunction against the infringements, he added.

He also said that KVIC has taken several measures to curb the manufacturing and sale of fake Khadi products.

One of the most significant steps is the appointment of seven trade mark consultants, who monitor the trade mark violations by third parties and issue legal notices to such users.
