Labour Min joins hands with Flipkart, Tata, Raymond & GIPCL to boost MSMEs

The Ministry signed the MoU with Flipkart for benefiting the MSMEs and artisans in building their capabilities and improving their competitiveness.
Flipkart will train people in the areas of online cataloguing, photography, inventory management, packaging and online merchandising.
Labour Ministry has appointed Tata sons as a knowledge partner for enhancing employability and entrepreneurship among the youth.
The Tata Group will work with the ministry closely on the national employment policy, especially in women’s participation, and will provide support in the area of developing effective and scalable models for industry-ITI career centre collaboration.
The MoUs signed under the 'flexi-MoU' policy of the ministry of labour and employment, gives companies the flexibility to design programmes at the government technical training institutions for a period of two-three years utilising government facilities.
Raymond will provide training programmes on customised garment manufacturing in formal men's wear.
GIPCL will impart training to young people in its circulating fluidised bed combustion technology (CFBC) for running a 500 megawatt thermal power plant.
The MoU was signed at a CII conference, “Demand-Responsive Vocational Training”, held in collaboration with the ministry, where four other MoUs were also announced.
Labour and employment secretary, Gauri Kumar said the government is looking at partnerships wherein companies can volunteer to help develop a last-mile employability module. (KNN/SD)
