Ludhiana MSME units to set up solar heating system to minimize impact on environment

New Delhi, Feb 7 (KNN) In an attempt to minimize impact on the environment and move towards sustainable production mechanism, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ludhiana are to introduce solar process heating system in their units.

The project is to be undertaken by Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU), assisted by UNIDO.

A detailed discussion in this regard also took place to explore the viability of this project to be setup by MSME units.

Commenting over the upcoming project, Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU said that the recently held workshop is instrumental towards facilitating innovation in the renewable energy sector.

Dr. Anil Misra, National Project Manager, United Nation Industrial Development Organization said that the project, once functional, will help the MSMEs become more energy efficient. (KNN/DA)
