NITI Aayog To Hold Stakeholder Consultation On Industrial Corridor Reforms

New Delhi, Jul 20 (KNN) The Centre has initiated a review of the institutional and implementation framework governing industrial corridors, industrial parks and integrated manufacturing ecosystems to identify bottlenecks and recommend reforms aimed at improving project execution and investor experience.

As part of the exercise, NITI Aayog will hold a stakeholder consultation this week to gather recommendations on policy, regulatory, institutional and implementation reforms needed to strengthen India's industrial competitiveness and support the country's Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, sources said.

Review Under High-Level Committee

The review is being conducted under the guidance of the High-Level Committee on Implementation of Viksit Bharat Goals (HLC-VB), chaired by NITI Aayog Member Rajiv Gauba.

The committee has been tasked with monitoring key development programmes and infrastructure projects and recommending measures to accelerate implementation, reported PTI.

Five Key Areas Of Focus

The stakeholder consultation will focus on five broad areas: project planning and land development, regulatory and institutional reforms, project execution and delivery, connectivity and logistics, and enhancing investor experience and future readiness.

Participants have been asked to identify implementation bottlenecks, examine their underlying causes and suggest practical reforms.

Stakeholders To Recommend Policy Changes

Stakeholders will also be required to indicate whether their recommendations call for administrative action, policy or regulatory changes, legislative amendments or digital interventions.

The consultation will seek suggestions on addressing delays in areas such as master planning, approvals, land allotment, contracting and last-mile logistics connectivity.

The exercise aims to reduce implementation timelines, improve project delivery and strengthen the competitiveness of India's industrial infrastructure by identifying systemic reforms across industrial corridors, industrial parks and other manufacturing ecosystems.
