Oneplus Partners With Bhagwati Products For Local Tablet Manufacturing In India

New Delhi, Aug 13 (KNN) Chinese technology manufacturer OnePlus announced Tuesday that it has entered into a strategic partnership with electronic manufacturing services provider Bhagwati Products to establish local production of premium tablets in India.

The collaboration represents an expansion of OnePlus' manufacturing footprint in the country as part of its broader localisation strategy.

The partnership encompasses the domestic production of OnePlus' primary tablet offerings, including the OnePlus Pad 3 and OnePlus Pad Lite models.

Manufacturing operations will be conducted at Bhagwati Products Ltd's flagship facility located in Greater Noida, according to a company statement released Tuesday.

The initiative aligns with OnePlus' Project Starlight, a comprehensive program designed to strengthen local integration within the Indian market.

The project builds upon the company's existing smartphone manufacturing operations in India, extending its production capabilities to include tablet devices for the first time in the region.

Under the agreement, Bhagwati Products Ltd will provide specialised manufacturing support and localisation services specifically tailored to OnePlus tablet production requirements for the Indian consumer market.

The partnership positions the manufacturing services company as a key strategic partner in OnePlus' regional expansion efforts.

Robin Liu, Chief Executive Officer, OnePlus India, characterised the collaboration as a significant milestone in the company's Indian market strategy.

Liu emphasised that local tablet production demonstrates OnePlus' commitment to the Indian market while creating enhanced value propositions for its user base.

The executive stated that the partnership reflects the company's long-term vision to innovate, invest, and expand within India's technology sector.

Vikas Jain, Co-Founder, Bhagwati Products Ltd, noted that the partnership represents both an addition to the company's client portfolio and an expansion of manufacturing capabilities.

Jain indicated that the collaboration introduces tablet production as a new form factor to the Greater Noida facility's existing manufacturing expertise, expressing optimism for a sustained partnership between the two companies.
