Markets fully open showing no effect of Bharat Bandh: CAIT

New Delhi, Sept 27 (KNN) Despite the call of Bharat Bandh across the country by various farmer organizations today, there was no effect of it in the markets across the country. All the markets including in  Delhi  remained fully open and business activities in the markets went on as normal. Stating this, the National President of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), BC Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal have advised the farmer leaders to leave the path of struggle and find ways to negotiate with the government.

They told that neither any farmer organization has contacted them regarding Bharat Bandh nor the traders had any intention to participate in the bandh in favour of the farmers. He said that it is not possible to solve any problem with a stubborn attitude. It is a fact that the farmer’s movement has become irrelevant now and its alleged long run is causing great loss to the farmers only.

Further they added, “There is no doubt that even after 75 years of independence, farmers of the country are cultivating loss. It is necessary to make all the sectors related to agriculture to sit together and try to convert the loss of the farmer into profit farming. The government should also co-operate in this, it is also important. The farmers' organizations should take initiative in this regard and start a process of dialogue with all the sectors related to agriculture rather than protesting on the street.”
